The Reno Gazette-Journal Foundation
One-hundred percent of net proceeds from Fantasies in Chocolate benefit the Reno Gazette-Journal Foundation, which awards grants to local non-profit organizations, with a main focus on literacy and education. Since 2001, The Reno Gazette-Journal has awarded nearly $1million to these organizations. In 2004, the Reno Gazette-Journal Foundation adopted Grace Warner Elementary School as a Partner in Education, providing funding in the amount of over $89,000 to put in a new media center/computer lab for the school that will be used by the students as well as the local community.
This year, the RGJ Foundation will open nominations non-profit organizations to submit for funding In October. The foundation will announce 5 finalists prior to the event, and one of the finalists will receive an award of $10,000 during this year’s Fantasies in Chocolate.
